[Bigbrother Australia plays a huge role in expanding Big Sis' " See Something Say Something, With Australia's new carbon tax. Australians speaking against the carbon tax can be fined, also business raising prices on consumer goods may now be fined if consumers believe they are being ripped off. Carbon Cops and Consumer Cops will now be watching. Sorry Mr Business Man, But the ACCC believes that you cant counter act this tax by raising prices to keep your business operational. We all know that the carbon tax is based on false grounds, Its time we all educated each other.]
ACCC to crack down on carbon cheats
The consumer watchdog wants people to dob in businesses that use the incoming carbon tax to gouge customers on price.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) earlier this month launched a carbon price hotline and online claims form for people who fear they’re being ripped off.
The commission doesn’t want consumers being duped into accepting a price increase that’s not appropriate, or being led by false claims to buy products they otherwise wouldn’t.
The ACCC has received 200 complaints so far about attempts to lift the price of beer, taxis, pizza and even a swimming pool.
People have been told the carbon tax will force up electricity prices many times over in an attempt to make them buy solar panels. Some have been encouraged to buy a house now to “beat the carbon tax”.
Others still have been told their gym membership would go up, but if they bought additional years’ coverage it wouldn’t.
Most complaints have been resolved with warning letters, but four “intensive investigations” are under way.
The ACCC can ask businesses to substantiate their claims, write warning letters or issue infringement notices with fines of up to $66,000.
In extreme cases the watchdog can launch Federal Court proceedings with penalties of up to $1.1 million.
“(But) if small business are honest in their dealings with their customers they have nothing to fear from us,” ACCC chairman Rod Sims said in mid-June when launching the complaints hotline.
The ACCC doesn’t plan to ping business people who have a genuine belief in what they are saying – so long as they don’t just parrot a political fear campaign in order to price gouge.
Small businesses have told been told they too have the right to “push back” on suppliers if they think they are being had.
Suspect price claims can be reported to the ACCC on 1300 303 609 or by visiting www.accc.gov.au/carbon.
This dead cat won’t even bounce properly
Another bit of flesh dropped off the decaying zombie that is ACTA, with the Australian parliamentary Treaties Committee recommending that ratification be deferred – partly because of its near-collapse in Europe.
The committee states that ACTA should not be ratified until a range of conditions, including a cost-benefit analysis, are met.
Committee chair Kelvin Thomson says, in the committee’s media statement outlines concerns including: a lack of clarity in the text; insufficient protection for individuals; “and ACTA’s potential to shift the balance in the interpretation of copyright law, intellectual property law and patent law”.
He also notes the unfavourable reception that ACTA has received internationally. The ratification process in the EU, for example, has stalled. “The international reaction to ACTA, which, without exception, comes from countries which the Committee considers would have the same interests as Australia, must also be taken into consideration,” Thomson said.
As well as the call for a cost-benefit analysis, the committee says ACTA ratification should be delayed until the current Australian Law Reform Commission inquiry into copyright is completed, and the text of the treaty is clarified.
TWO earthquakes have struck in northern NSW, and have been felt in Tamworth, Gunnedah and Coonabarabran and in areas more than 100km away
A 4.2 magnitude quake struck at Lake Keepit, northeast of Gunnedah, at 9pm (AEST) tonight, Geoscience Australia says.
It had a depth of 17km.
A similar sized earthquake nearby struck about two minutes earlier, the Australian Seismological Centre says.
The centre’s director Kevin McCue said these were the first earthquakes greater than magnitude 4 to strike inland northern NSW since December 1969, when a magnitude 5 quake struck near Coonabarabran.
Mr McCue said the Friday night quakes were felt as far as Coonabarabran, 120km from the epicentre, as well as in Tamworth and Gunnedah.
“I was talking to people up there. All the glass was jiggling in cupboards,” he said.
“It’s unusual to have an earthquake of this size.”
He said it’s unlikely the quakes caused structural damage to homes in major towns, but some may have cracked walls or chimneys.
Twitter accounts have come in from Tamworth, Manilla and Gunnedah.

In the next month China and Japan (China’s main trading partner) will no longer use the U.S. dollar as the only currency in trade with each other. They will use the Yuan and the Yen directly with each other. This will see the dollar removed from a large chunk of the world’s trade –in itself, not a very large percentage, but a significant one. It’s the start of a trend that is set to grow. We’ve no doubt that China is tailoring its trade with all its trading partners to use the dollar only so far as it is required to deal with the U.S. and other dollar-dependent nations. Oil from Russia utilizes the Yuan and Rouble, and Australia has arranged a similar deal.

Who is Behind It? and Why?
According to the Australian Constitution, the federal government is required to act in Australia’s national interest, and is sworn to uphold our constitution.
However did the Rudd/Gillard Government act in the national interest, when it hired economics Professor Ross Garnaut, as our chief advisor on climate change?
Professor Garnaut, is currently a member of the Trilateral Commission, which is an international special interest group.

The tax whose name cannot be spoken
Paul Joseph Watson
Friday, May 25, 2012
Praised by Barack Obama as a model for the world, Australia’s highly unpopular carbon tax, set to take effect from July 1st, is set to be policed by laws which forbid business owners from criticizing it for causing price rises – with thought criminals who do so under threat of being hit with huge fines of over $1 million dollars.
“SHOPS and restaurants could face fines up to $1.1 million if waiters or sales staff wrongly blame the carbon tax for price rises or exaggerate the impact,” reports the Daily Telegraph.
According to ACCC deputy chairman Dr Michael Schaper, the warning applies, “to comments made by staff over the phone, on the shop floor or in meetings. It also covers advertising, product labels, websites, invoices, contracts and contract negotiations.”
This draconian measure will be enforced by teams of “carbon cops” who roam the streets conducting snap inspections of businesses to ensure they are not making any reference to the tax.
The characterization of dissent against the carbon tax as a criminal offense exemplifies how the measure passed last year goes way beyond merely forcing Australia’s top 500 companies to pay an extra $23.78 per each tonne of CO2 emitted. The system will be rolled into a carbon trading system by 2015.
Not only will Australians be whacked with price rises on everything from energy to food, small business owners will also be intimidated into silence when they are forced to pay out more for key supplies. Energy prices across the country have already been skyrocketing over the course of the last year.
After the carbon tax bill passed Australia’s federal parliament last year, the government set about “trying to erase any dissent against the jobs-destroying legislation,” wrote Miranda Devine.
“It’s all very Orwellian: the tax whose name cannot be spoken. We are already paying for the climate-change hysteria that has gripped Australia for a decade.”
“But no matter how Orwellian the tactics, no matter how many carbon cops are sent into hairdressing salons to interrogate barbers on the precise nature of their price rises, the truth remains: Australia has gone out on a limb, imposing a carbon tax that will send businesses to the wall, cause undue hardship to families, and tether Australians more tightly to government handouts.”
“And soon, we will send billions of dollars overseas to buy useless pieces of paper called carbon credits. Investment bankers, lawyers and carbon traders will get rich, as will all the usual spivs and scam artists ready to stick a bucket under the government spigot raining taxpayer cash.”
Although Barack Obama has largely been forced to abandon a carbon tax for Americans, instead targeting coal-fired power plants via EPA mandates, last year he praised the Australian system as being “good for the world.”
As we have documented, the entire carbon tax scam is a monumental fraud which does nothing to help the environment even if you believe in climate change hysteria, in that its primary purpose is to line the pockets of ‘carbon billionaires’ like Al Gore and Maurice Strong.
Obama’s support for Australia’s carbon tax is unsurprising given the fact that he was “instrumental in developing and launching the privately-owned Chicago Climate Exchange” via millions of dollars in donations from the Joyce Foundation, with whom Obama served as a director.
Carbon trading schemes are directly connected to people in third world nations like Honduras and Uganda being brutally evicted from their land and in some cases slaughtered in cold blood. Western companies make billions from seizing land and using it to grow trees in return for lucrative carbon credits which are then sold to companies under carbon tax schemes like the one passed in Australia.

It is rare in diplomatic circles for governments to speak bluntly, particularly in the Orient, where manners are highly prized.
The exceptions to this rule are retired military officers, who are often able to voice sentiments too impolitic for other channels.
One of the more startling pronouncements in this vein occurred last week when Song Xiaojun, a former senior officer of the People’s Liberation Army, warned that Australia cannot juggle its relationships with the United States and China indefinitely and “Australia has to find a godfather sooner or later. Australia always has to depend on somebody else, whether it is to be the ‘son’ of the US or ‘son’ of China. (It) depends on who is more powerful, and based on the strategic environment.” Noting the rising importance of China as an export market Song added that Australia depended on exporting iron ore to China “to feed itself,” but “Frankly, it has not done well politically.”
What is also notable about Song’s remarks is that they coincided with Australian Foreign Minister Bob Carr’s first official visit to China, where Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi urged Australia to dismiss its alliance with the United States, a decades-old bipartisan and central pillar of the nation’s foreign policy, as “the time for Cold War alliances has passed.”
by Philip Wen, TheAge.com.au:
Australia cannot juggle its relationships with the United States and China indefinitely and must choose a ”godfather” to protect it, according to a prominent Chinese defense strategist.
The warning by Song Xiaojun, a former senior officer of the People’s Liberation Army, comes after Foreign Minister Bob Carr was told by his Chinese counterpart that Australia’s close military alliance with the US was a throwback to the Cold War era.
Senator Carr yesterday met the man expected to become China’s next premier, Li Keqiang, in Beijing. Discussions centred on more comfortable matters including furthering trade and investment and the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
But Australia’s strategic position in the Asia-Pacific region remains contentious. “Australia has to find a godfather sooner or later,” Mr Song told The Age.
“Australia always has to depend on somebody else, whether it is to be the ‘son’ of the US or ‘son’ of China,” he said. “[It] depends on who is more powerful, and based on the strategic environment.”
[ED NOTE: Australian Government to use Australian Tax Dollars to fund the asylum seekers in Aussie homes. Seems like a good way to make an easy $300.00 but nothing comes for free. Thank you Aussie Gov for creating such a great scheme to use my tax dollars for nothing useful again]
THE Federal Government will pay families up to $300 a week to temporarily house asylum seekers in their homes to help deal with the increasing numbers of arrivals.
With the Immigration Department now facing a potential shortage of community housing to accommodate detainees being released into the community, the Government has turned to householders for help, the Daily Telegraph has reported.
Under a plan slated to start next month, the Government will seek to access the 5000 homes registered under the privately run Australian Homestay Network to host asylum seekers released from detention on bridging visas.
AHN was originally established to provide short-term private-home accommodation and board for international students.
You are all suspects now. What are you going to do about it?
You are all potential terrorists. It matters not that you live in Britain, the United States, Australia or the Middle East. Citizenship is effectively abolished.
Turn on your computer and the US Department of Homeland Security’s National Operations Centre may monitor whether you are typing not merely ‘Al Qaeda’, but ‘exercise’, ‘drill’, ‘wave’, ‘initiative’ and ‘organisation’: all proscribed words.
The British government’s announcement that it intends to spy on every email and phone call is old hat. The satellite vacuum cleaner known as Echelon has been doing this for years. What has changed is that a state of permanent war has been launched by the United States and a police state is consuming Western democracy.
What are you going to do about it?
In Britain, on instructions from the CIA, secret courts are to deal with “terror suspects”. Habeas Corpus is dying. The European Court of Human Rights has ruled that five men, including three British citizens, can be extradited to the US even though none except one has been charged with a crime.
All have been imprisoned for years under the 2003 US/UK Extradition Treaty, which was signed one month after the criminal invasion of Iraq. The European Court had condemned the treaty as likely to lead to “cruel and unusual punishment”.
One of the men, Babar Ahmad, was awarded 63,000 pounds compensation for 73 recorded injuries he sustained in the custody of the Metropolitan Police. Sexual abuse, the signature of fascism, was high on the list. Another man is a schizophrenic who has suffered a complete mental collapse and is in Broadmoor secure hospital; another is a suicide risk.
To the Land of the Free, they go – along with young Richard O’Dwyer, who faces 10 years in shackles and an orange jump suit because he allegedly infringed US copyright on the internet.
As the law is politicised and Americanised, these travesties are not untypical. In upholding the conviction of a London university student, Mohammed Gul, for disseminating “terrorism” on the internet, Appeal Court judges in London ruled that “acts … against the armed forces of a state anywhere in the world which sought to influence a government and were made for political purposes” were now crimes.
Call to the dock Thomas Paine, Aung San Suu Kyi, Nelson Mandela.
What are you going to do about it?
The prognosis is clear now: the malignancy that Norman Mailer called “pre-fascist” has metastasized. The US attorney-general, Eric Holder, defends the “right” of his government to assassinate American citizens. Israel, the protege, is allowed to aim its nukes at nukeless Iran.
In this looking-glass world, the lying is panoramic. The massacre of 17 Afghan civilians on March 1, including at least nine children and four women, is attributed to a “rogue” American soldier. The “authenticity” of this is vouched by President Obama himself, who had “seen a video” and regards it as “conclusive proof”.
An independent Afghan parliamentary investigation produces eyewitnesses who give detailed evidence of as many as 20 soldiers, aided by a helicopter, ravaging their villages, killing and raping: a standard, if marginally more murderous, US special forces “night raid”.
Take away the videogame technology of killing – America’s contribution to modernity – and the behaviour is traditional. Immersed in comic-book righteousness, poorly or brutally trained, frequently racist, obese and led by a corrupt officer class, American forces transfer the homicide of home to faraway places whose impoverished struggles they cannot comprehend.
A nation founded on the genocide of the native population never quite kicks the habit. Vietnam was “Indian country” and its “slits” and “gooks” were to be “blown away”.
The blowing away of hundreds of mostly women and children in the Vietnamese village of My Lai in 1968 was also a “rogue” incident and, profanely, an “American tragedy” (the cover headline of Newsweek).
Only one of 26 men prosecuted was convicted and he was let go by president Richard Nixon. My Lai is in Quang Ngai province where, as I learned as a reporter, an estimated 50,000 people were killed by American troops, mostly in what they called “free fire zones”. This was the model of modern warfare: industrial murder.
Like Iraq and Libya, Afghanistan is a theme park for the beneficiaries of America’s new permanent war: NATO, the armaments and hi-tech companies, the media, and a “security” industry whose lucrative contamination is a contagion on everyday life.
The conquest or “pacification” of territory is unimportant. What matters is the pacification of you, the cultivation of your indifference.
What are you going to do about it?
The descent into totalitarianism has landmarks. Any day now, the Supreme Court in London will decide whether the WikiLeaks editor, Julian Assange, is to be extradited to Sweden. Should this final appeal fail, the facilitator of truth-telling on an epic scale, who is charged with no crime, faces solitary confinement and interrogation on ludicrous sex allegations.
Thanks to a secret deal between the US and Sweden, he can be “rendered” to the American gulag at any time. In his own country, Australia, Prime Minister Julia Gillard has liaised with those in Washington she calls her “true mates” to ensure her innocent fellow citizen is fitted for his orange jump suit just in case he should make it home.
In February, her Government wrote a “WikiLeaks Amendment” to the extradition treaty between Australia and the US that makes it easier for her “mates” to get their hands on him. She has even given them the power of approval over Freedom of Information searches – so that the world outside can be lied to, as is customary.

(NaturalNews) Two years to the day after CSL’s Fluvax was banned for use in children under the age of 5, news has emerged that Australian doctors are continuing to administer this shot to infants and toddlers despite the fact that there are four other vaccines that are licensed for use in this age group.
Originally, it was discovered that the rate of febrile convulsions following Fluvax was 10 times higher than the ‘expected’ rate and was causing seizures in 1 child in 100. As a result, the Chief Medical Officer of Australia, Jim Bishop, banned the vaccine for use in children under five and current recommendations state that it should only be used in children between five and 10 years of age if no other vaccination is available.
Initial reports have now found that 25 children in Western Australia (WA) were given the Fluvax in error so far this year, but follow-up investigations stated that errors in data entry were responsible for an over-reporting when in fact, ‘only’ seven children had gotten this shot.
The report states that Fluvax has been given to children across Australia but it is hard to know how many babies have been improperly vaccinated since at least 70 percent of the entries by doctors have been found to be incorrect.
Out of date shots
As if it weren’t bad enough to be administering a vaccine to babies that has already caused permanent disabilities and death, it appears that the vaccines being administered may also be out of date. Dr Terry Nolan of ATAGI, quoted on the ABC Program, the World Today, says that Fluvax Jr is no longer available and any stock that is still around would be out of date. So either doctors are administering out-of-date shots or they are giving children adult vaccines which are twice the potency. Either way, it’s a very bad situation!
How did doctors make such stupid mistakes?
This begs the question – how is it possible that doctors can make errors 70 percent of the time when reporting this vital information to the government? Also, if they make such a large number of errors when there is already increased scrutiny due to the risks of the flu vaccine for this age group, how many other mistakes are occurring that we are as yet unaware of?
A spokesperson from the WA Health Department said the Department had sent immunization providers five reminders since February, by fax, email and mail, telling them not to use Fluvax in the under-fives. In addition, providers who ordered flu vaccines by fax or online were automatically reminded that Fluvax is “NOT for use in children.” Despite this, an untold number continue to ignore the warning and children’s lives may be at risk as a result of their negligence.

This is not a military mission of peace and stability, but rather an indefinite military presence in the Asia-Pacific region to secure natural resources by force. Are natural resources becoming scarce? I have no data or energy sector connections to prove the scarcity of oil, natural gas or rare earth minerals, however if you control the natural resources, you control the people.
U.S. Marines began arriving in Australia after an agreement between President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Julia Gillard to increase cooperation and allow a greater regional presence for American forces.
The first 200 of as many as 2,500 Marines arrived in the northern city of Darwin today, Gillard said in a statement. Obama first announced that the contingent would be based in Australia during a visit in November to mark the 60th anniversary of the alliance between the two nations.
“As part of the ongoing U.S. consideration of its global force posture, this initiative will see U.S. Marine Corps personnel deploying to northern Australia on a rotational basis for around six months per year,” Gillard said.
The deployments are part of a U.S. push to increase its military footprint in the Asia-Pacific region that include plans to strengthen Philippines naval defenses. When Obama announced the plans last year he said they sent a “clear message” of U.S. commitment to the region and that the U.S. was not attempting to contain China.
Darwin is part of a growing energy hub where companies including Royal Dutch Shell Plc (RDSA) are planning to spend more than A$150 billion ($156 billion) to develop offshore natural gas fields. Australia needs to bolster the defense of its energy and mining assets on its northwest coast, according to a review commissioned by the government released in January.
The 2,500-member Marine Air Ground Task Force that will deploy to Australia will include wheeled vehicles, artillery, light-armored vehicles and aircraft, Gillard said today. They will use existing Australian facilities and no U.S. bases will be built in Australia, she said.
The arrival of the Marines “supports Australia’s long-held strategic interests in supporting U.S. engagement in our region in a manner that promotes peace and stability,” according to her statement.
Aimed at containing a rising China, US troops presence in Australia will grow to 2,500 by 2016
Australian Defense Minister Stephen Smith will formally welcome the first contingent of U.S. Marines at a ceremony outside of Darwin, after 250 troops arrived Tuesday.
The U.S. troops presence will eventually grow to a 2,500-strong air-ground task force by 2016, as per President Obama’s new bilateral defense deal with Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard, first announced in November. The deal also includes an increased presence of U.S. warships and military aircraft – including B52 bombers – to operate from Australian bases.
Part of Obama’s ‘strategic pivot’ to Asia-Pacific, the move is aimed at countering growing Chinese military and economic influence in the region. In announcing the expanded military presence President Obama said “it’s important for [China] to play by the rules of the road. We will send a clear message to them that we think they may need to be on track, in terms of accepting the rules and responsibilities of being a world power.”
Traditionally, the “rules and responsibilities of being a world power” means to act in a way that is subservient to the U.S., thus the need for Obama to “send a clear message” of militaristic provocation to the Chinese that their growing influence in recent years are American prerogatives.
To this end, Obama has announced troop deployments to not just to Australia, but to Singapore and the Philippines. He has also strengthened economic and military ties to South Korea, Japan, Thailand, and Guam, all of whom already have significant U.S. military presence.
Former national security adviser to President Jimmy Carter Zbigniew Brzezinski described Obama’s approach as overly confrontational. As he told Slate in January, “to define our engagements in the east in terms of China is a mistake. We have to focus on Asia but not in a manner that plays on everyone’s anxieties … It becomes very easy to demonise China and they will then demonise us in return. Is that what we want?”
The expansion of U.S. military presence in Asia-Pacific occurs despite crippling fiscal deficits and impending cuts to the defense budget. The deployment also has no discernible necessity in terms of defending the nation from a military threat, making the imperial and economic aspects of this particularly blatant.
