MUST WATCH: If the Dollar is the Problem, Could the Gold Standard Be the Solution?

PressTVGlobalNews asks: “Could we really dump the dollar? Tune in to the Agenda to find out.”

from PressTVGlobalNews :

“Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi both threatened to dump the dollar and look what happened to them. Yes, the return of the gold standard is not for the fainthearted – and you can be sure of a head on collision with America if you try and plot the downfall of the dollar. But since it’s not worth the paper it’s written on according to some, some believe the only solution is to go for gold.” – PressTV

Stratfor Emails: US Government Contractor Was Involved In Gaddafi Killing

Government “fact finding mission” used as cover for training terrorist fighters

Emails obtained from intelligence gathering outfit Stratfor and leaked by Wikileaks show that a former director of Blackwater, the US mercenary contractor organization, was sent by the US government to fight alongside rebels in Libya, and was even involved in the killing of Muammar Gaddafi.

In addition, a US government committee has now overseen the mercenary’s assignment to Syria where he is tasked with protecting rebel fighters and finding ways to “help in regime change.”

Al-Akhbar English reports on the email stash leaked by Wikileaks, that shows former Blackwater director Jamie F. Smith struck up a rapport with Stratfor vice president Fred Burton.

Smith, now the chief executive of the security firm SCG International, was contracted by the US government to protect Libyan National Transitional Council (NTC) members and train Libyan rebel fighters following the announcement of the NATO no-fly zone over Libya one year ago.

Smith fed intelligence back to Stratfor under the codename LY700, and was even apparently involved in the assassination of the former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in the town of Sirte.

In one email exchange, Burton praised Smith’s intelligence gathering efforts writing “Good skinny. This is what is defined as a credible source. Not some windbag Paki academic belching and passing gas.”

Smith continued to pass intelligence to Stratfor right up until the outfit’s email servers were hacked in December.

The final mention of Smith was on December 13 in a series of emails, including one in which Burton noted:

“**Source and Dr. Walid Phares are getting air cover from Congresswoman [Sue] Myrick to engage Syrian opposition in Turkey (non-MB and non-Qatari) on a fact finding mission for Congress.

** The true mission is how they can help in regime change.

** Source intends to offer his services to help protect the opposition members, like he had underway in Libya.”

Al-Akhbar English points out that Walid Phares is a Lebanese-American citizen who is currently co-chair of Mitt Romney’s Middle East advisory group. He also has a history of ties to right wing militias during the Lebanese civil war.

Sue Myrick, also mentioned in the email, is a Republican Congresswoman from North Carolina who has a track record of extremist pro-zionist and anti-Islamic views.

In another stratfor email dated December 13, Burton notes that Smith “is meeting w/specific people described as key leaders.” in Syria.

Other leaked stratfor emails have confirmed that Special Operations Forces from numerous countries have been on the ground in Syria as of December, and are ready to facilitate regime change.

During the conflict in Libya it was extensively reported in the alternative media that the US government was covertly involved in training and equipping Libyan fighters, many of whom were connected to Al Qaeda affiliated terrorist groups.

Rebel forces in Libya were directed by Abdulhakim Belhadj, former leader of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG), which is designated as a terrorist organization by the US State Department. Libyan rebel leader Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi admitted that Belhadj’s LIFG fighters were the second-largest cohort of foreign fighters in Iraq, responsible for killing U.S. troops.

Once the terrorist-led rebels executed Colonel Gaddafi, they proudly flew the distinctive black Al-Qaeda flag over courthouses in Benghazi and other centers of power. On the orders of Belhadj, the puppet National Transitional Council then announced that Sharia law would be reinstated.

Libyan rebels have since imposed a reign of terror over the country, incarcerating and torturing black people and anyone suspected of supporting Gaddafi in concentration camps and cages.

These same terrorists were subsequently airlifted into Syria to fight NATO’s proxy war against President Bashar Al-Assad. Hillary Clinton admitted in a BBC News interview that the US and Al-Qaeda were on the same side in Syria.

Is it any surprise that Syrian “opposition” forces are now also rallying around the Al-Qaeda flag just as they did in Libya?

All the evidence points to the fact that western governments who are supposed to be engaged in a ‘war on terror’ against radical Muslim terrorists are handing those very same terrorists control over entire countries in the middle east and North Africa.

The establishment media, just as they did in Libya, continues to describe terrorists who fight under the Al-Qaeda flag as “activists”.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon preparing to support these Al-Qaeda terrorists by launching “guerrilla attacks” and “assassination campaigns” inside Syria to topple Assad’s government.

Gaddafi Releases Defiant Audio Message As NATO Bombs Sirte

Oman Daily Observer
Friday, August 26, 2011

TRIPOLI — Muammar Gaddafi urged his supporters yesterday to wage war on the opposition forces. Gaddafi’s audio message came as the head of the rebels’ National Transitional Council (NTC), Mustafa Abdel Jalil, gave the grim assessment that more than 20,000 people had been killed in the drive since mid-February to end the strongman’s 42-year iron-fisted rule.

Gaddafi, who has a $1.7 million price on his head, said in his third audio message, “We must resist these enemy rats, who will be defeated thanks to the armed struggle,” “Leave your homes and liberate Tripoli,” he added in the message broadcast on Syria-based Arrai Oruba television.

Addressing the youth of the city, he said, “Fight them street by street, alley by alley, house to house. With rifles and pistols they will be annihilated.”

“Do not fear them, fear only God,” he said, telling them not to fear bombardment by Nato warplanes. “They are just sound bombs.”

Al-Qaeda Group To Become Main Power In Post-Gaddafi Libya

Daya Gamage
Asian Tribune
Aug 23, 2011

With the imminent departure of Muammar Gaddafi from absolute power as the rebels are closing on Tripoli two CIA-backed Libyan groups and an al-Qaeda affiliated Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG), a declared foreign terrorist organization (FTO) by the US State Department since 2004, could emerge as real power in Libya when it is clear that the rebel military forces are a patchwork of armed groups, former soldiers and freelance militias including self-appointed neighborhood gangs.

The main rebel group, based in Benghazi in the country’s east, consists of former government ministers who have defected, and longstanding opposition figures, representing a range of political views including Arab nationalists, Islamists, secularists, socialists and businessmen.

With the fall of Gaddafi’s 42-year rule the National Front for the Salvation of Libya (NFSL), the Libyan National Army (LNA), military wing of the NFSL and Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) are likely to emerge to become the real power behind any administration in post-Gaddafi Libya.

Groups who had been organizing against Gadhafi for years are at least partly responsible for provoking the protests which started last February. The composition of forces opposing Gadhafi consists of a wide range of groups of people each with their own agenda but whose common purpose is his overthrow.

Some of these groups formed the National Transitional Council (TNC) in Benghazi on February 27, 2011 to act as the political face of the revolution. Politicians, former military officers, tribal leaders, academics and businessmen from Eastern Libya created the Council to serve as a transitional government and to wrap the opposition in an aura of respectability.

But the three well organized movements are the NFSL, its military arm LNA and the Islamist LIFG.

The National Front for the Salvation of Libya (NFSL) established on October 7, 1981, was trained and supported by the CIA and was involved in an unsuccessful assassination attempt on Gadhafi on May 8, 1984.

The Libyan National Army (LNA), military wing of the NFSL, was founded on June 21, 1988 by Khalifa Hafter who, according to a Washington-based think tank, the Jamestown Foundation, had: “strong backing from the Central Intelligence agency”. The think tank also reports that the CIA arranged the entry of LNA officers into the United States where they established a training camp. Hafter arrived in Benghazi in March 2011 to join the forces attempting to overthrow Gadhafi.

Another major organization engaged in overthrowing Gadhafi is the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) which has close ties to al Qaida and has been designated as a foreign terrorist organization (FTO) by the US State Department in 2004. The LIFG was established in 1995 to oppose Gadhafi’s secular state by Libyans who had fought in Afghanistan. They have been committed to supporting jihadi groups everywhere and contributed a significant number of people to fight the U.S. in Iraq.

The LIFG appeared to be largely defunct by the mid-2000s, until documents captured in Sinjar, Iraq by Coalition Forces showed that over 100 Libyans from LIFG strongholds in eastern Libya had joined al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) between 2006 and 2007.

The Asian Tribune reported this influx of Libyan fighters to Afghanistan and Iraq based on US military documents.

Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) is dedicated to two principle objectives. The founding goal of the terrorist group is to overthrow Muammar Gaddafi. From the time it was founded until the late ’90s, LIFG attacked Libyan security forces in armed altercations. LIFG is suspected as one of the terrorist entities to provide materials for the May 2003 suicide bombings in Casablanca.

David Model, a professor of political science at Seneca College in Toronto, Canada tells us that “The Libyan Islamic Fighting Group also maintains a second objective beyond Libya’s border, to contribute to the international jihadist campaign. This objective has become increasingly central to LIFG’s activities and overall goals. In November 2007, al-Qaeda leaders released an audio recording officially declaring LIFG had been joined with the al-Qaeda organization. It is believed that certain LIFG senior leaders maintain positions in al-Qaeda’s senior command structure.”

In November 2007, al-Qaeda second-in-command Ayman al-Zawahiri released an audio tape announcing that the LIFG had joined al-Qaeda. Several high ranking al-Qaeda members are associated with the LIFG, most notably Abu Yahya al-Libi, al-Qaeda’s propaganda chief, and Abu Laith al-Libi, who was killed by a drone strike in January 2008.

New York Times and Washington Post articles have admitted that the opposition forces have been coordinated by Special Forces in Libya belonging to the CIA and British MI6. The articles also claim that President Obama signed a finding dispatching CIA operatives to identify targets for bombing by NATO forces.

A UK paper, the Independent, on April 3, reports that: “Military and diplomatic advisors from the US and Western Europe — usually described as experts, consultants and advisors — turned up in the rebel capital Benghazi.”

These evidences clearly denote that the CIA-backed NFSL and LNA, and al-Qaeda affiliated LIFG may become the real political power behind whatever regime is established once Gaddafi relinquish power.

NATO Loots Libyan Gold As Tripoli Falls

As we reported 6 weeks ago, final assault was planned before September deadline

Paul Joseph Watson

Monday, August 22, 2011

Precisely as we predicted last month, NATO forces and their Al-Qaeda backed rebels launched a massive assault on Tripoli in order to wrap up the looting and conquest of Libya in time for crucial talks at the UN on Palestinian statehood set to begin in less than two weeks.

On July 8th in an article entitled, U.S. Wants Gaddafi Toppled By September, we reported, “The United States and France have set a deadline of September 2nd to topple Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, with NATO powers ready to inflict a crushing blow if Gaddafi refuses to step down peacefully.”

That crushing blow is now in full effect as reports circulate of well over a thousand dead with thousands more wounded during weekend battles, led by by NATO warships and fighter jets as part of “Operation Mermaid Dawn,”which led to the capture of Gaddafi’s sons as Gaddafi himself reportedly went into hiding.

RAF fighter jets were deployed to attack key regime targets while the media pretended the whole assault was an organic uprising by the Libyan people, endlessly replaying footage of celebrating crowds.

In another report published on July 15, we stated that NATO powers and the rebel army would launch a final bombardment of Tripoli within 6-8 weeks if Gaddafi refused to step down, which is exactly what unfolded just shy of 6 weeks later.

Barack Obama and David Cameron are now busy milking the spectacle with tough talk as if they led the assault personally. In reality, the conquest of Libya represents little more than another act of colonial looting on behalf of the NATO war machine, with Syria the next target in its cross hairs.

The war was launched, with the gleeful support of the western corporate media, on the hoax that Gaddafi’s government was slaughtering “protesters” en masse. In reality, these “protesters” had commandeered military tanks and fighter jets. For weeks, the establishment press re-branded what was a civil war as a brutal series of crimes against humanity by Gaddafi’s regime, just long enough for the United Nations to pass a “no fly zone” resolution that instantly turned into a massive NATO bombardment overnight.

Global central banks will now get to carve up Africa’s most oil-rich nation while simultaneously divvying up around 144 tons of gold bullion – which might go some way to repaying Hugo Chavez after his announcement that Venezuela is to nationalize its precious metals industry. Unless of course Chavez becomes the next head on the chopping block for another “humanitarian intervention”.

The attack on Libya, spearheaded by Obama without Congressional approval, against the advice of his own constitutional lawyers, and on a promise that the conflict would last “days not weeks,” was a brazen illustration of how the so-called “war on terror” was a cruel hoax.

From the very beginning, and in violation of their own resolution, NATO powers armed, funded and trained Al-Qaeda militants who had killed U.S. troops, setting them up to command the rebels in the march towards Tripoli. As the Wall Street Journal reported in a piece entitled, Ex-Mujahedeen Help Lead Libyan Rebels, Al-Qaeda terrorists who worked directly for Bin Laden were tasked with recruiting, training and acting as front line field commanders for the rebel army.

The entire scope of the war was about capturing Libya as another launch pad for further empire building in the Middle East and north Africa, which is why PNAC neo-cons ordered “Peace Laureate” Obama to do it in the first place. The conquest was about securing the richest oil resources in the whole of Africa, it was about stealing 6 billion dollars in gold reserves, and it was about putting a halt to China’s efforts to virtually re-colonize Africa.

Although Gaddafi was obviously an autocratic dictator, he did reinvest much of Libya’s oil wealth back into the country, transforming it into one of the most well-developed nations in the whole region, which is why a lot of the middle classes in major cities retained their support for the Libyan leader.

All that is set to change now that NATO forces and the central banks that stand behind them will finally get the opportunity to properly plunder Libya for all it has. Living standards will plummet, corrupt strong men will take control with globalist blessings and run the country into the ground for their own good, so long as they allow NATO and US air force bases to be constructed throughout the land.

Save for any last minute counter-attack by Gaddafi forces, the globalist war machine can now focus on toppling its next domino on the road to world domination. Rest assured, whether its Syria, Iran, Pakistan or anywhere else, a suitable hoax will be invented as a pretext for invasion and the western establishment media will slavishly create the perfect narrative for a bloody assault disguised as a humanitarian outreach.
