Britain’s biggest family the Radfords are planning to give their 10-bedroom home and epic makeover this year.
Mum-of-22 Sue Radford, 45, revealed the makeover news for their home in Morecambe, Lancashire, on the family’s YouTube channel.
In the video she said they have had the property’s scaffolding up as they get ready to replace its old windows, get a new roof and have a new room fitted.
“We’ve been waiting for years to do it, it’s like everything else in this house, you just get round to doing bits at a time,” Sue said.
“It’s like the Forth bridge, once you’ve finished something there’s another job to do and another job to do.
“I really miss living in a brand new build house, but you don’t get the character that you get with these houses and I do love it.”
Sue and husband Noel, 38, currently live with 19 of their children in the former care home which they bought for £240,000 in 2004.
The couple have also called in a decorator who warned they may have to have the walls replastered.
Sue said: “We’re going to bite the bullet and take the wallpaper off and just hope and pray that all of the plaster doesn’t just come off all of the walls.”
However the couple later discovered the wall will need to be replastered after Noel left a gaping hole in their wall while trying to decorate.
Sue showed the damage on her Instagram page, saying: “This is the thing when you have an old house guys, the walls fall apart.”
The married couple are parents to Chris, 30, Sophie, 26, Chloe, 25, Jack, 22, Daniel, 20, Luke, 19, Millie, 19, Katie, 17, James, 16, Ellie, 14, Aimee, 13, Josh, 12, Max, 11, Tillie, nine, Oscar, eight, Casper, seven, Hallie, four, Phoebe, three, Archie, two, and Bonnie, one and Heidi Rose, five months.
Their 17th child Alfie was stillborn in 2014.
They first shot to fame in TV Channel Four documentary, 15 Kids and Counting and since then they have regularly fed their fans news about their vast family through TV programmes and their own YouTube channel.
In November the couple hinted they planned to give their home a makeover during a Q&A session after it was suggested that they may move.
Sue said at the time: “I think a while back I did really want to move house, before we did the house up. But since doing the house up were not moving and actually we’ve got plans for the house, quite big plans.”
They also revealed they had to install a security camera at their home after an attempted break-in.
Noel said: “Somebody was in the garden and tried the windows a couple of months ago.
“But since then we’ve had security cameras fitted so we feel quite safe.”
